Stop Listening To Gudies
Something I noticed from sitting through hundreds of League of Legends guides really annoys me. Nobody has any idea what they're talking about. I went back and looked at Overwatch guides too, and it's the exact same thing. For anyone reading this who doesn't know, I'm obsessed with improving at things. I was top 500 in Overwatch since 2016, rank 1 global in Superbeat Xonic, I hit diamond in Apex Legends playing solo, 3KD in Call of Duty back in the day, etc.
I wasn't always like this, though. I used to be the complete opposite. KD below 1 in Call of Duty, the lowest rank in Counter Strike, even when Overwatch came out, I was at the bottom of the ranks. Basically, I have a pretty good idea what it actually takes to get better at games.
For League of Legends, every single guide I watched has a completely different idea of how you're supposed to play the game. One guide will tell you to play safe and focus on farming, let the game come to you. Another guide will tell you to be proactive and make plays, be the carry of your team. One will jerk off "fundamentals" and all of these hyper specific concepts. Another one will just lock in Draven and run at the other team. Most of them overcomplicate the game and tell you way too much random useless information, or just explain what's happening in the game. Its so much worse in Overwatch. Overwatch "Unranked to GM" videos are extremely worthless, I genuinely think so many people are stuck in lower ranks because of how much they overcomplicate the game. You don't need all these hyper specific concepts; you need an aim trainer, and do it properly. Don't just spam gridshot.
Im not saying completely disregard every single guide, but you need to develop your own way of improvement and not just blindly follow what someone says, cause nobody actually knows what theyre talking about, and theyre going off their own way of playing the game.
